Glazed Brussels Sprouts (Boring Brussels before to ooh-la-la after)

Brussels sprouts are not my favorite, but my husband really likes them. I discovered this fresh way to cook them over the holidays that has even me going back for seconds.

Ingredients:
About 15 fresh Brussels sprouts, rinsed and drained
1 Tbsp butter
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1 T brown sugar
½ an orange or 2-3 Tbsp of orange juice

Directions:

Slice
Brussels sprouts crosswise in three pieces to get long ribbons. Remove the tough end but keep the flowery looking base along with the long ribbons of sprouts. Melt the butter in a medium sized skillet over medium heat. Add Brussels sprouts, walnuts and brown sugar. Stir until Brussels are all lightly coated. Squeeze the orange over the sprouts getting as much juice out as possible. Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes stirring occasionally until tender reducing heat if needed to simmer. Brussels are ready when the flowery bases are tender. Makes 4 servings.
