Are you looking for a competitive edge?
Are you concerned with your child’s experience in youth sports?
Are you looking for a way to get more out of your exercise experience?
Are you working your way back from a recent injury?
Do the athletes you coach….
…lose focus during competition? …lack confidence during games? …choke during important competitive events?

If this is you, you have come to the right place!

I specialize in

Performance Enhancement - Teaching athletes at any level of ability, mental strategies that can help refine their mental skills and help ineffective performers move beyond their mental/emotional roadblocks.

Developing strategies to reduce the pressures and challenges of competition - Pressures and competitive challenges develop from an athlete’s own expectations of performance as well as parental and/or coach expectations. The aim is to teaching athletes to deal with these pressures by managing them positively.

Working with parents to help their child develop confidence and have a satisfying sport experience - Topics I address with parents include understanding their influential role in their child’s sporting experience, defining success in their child’s sport skills, do’s and don’ts for parents of young athletes, relaxation skills for parents during their child’s competition, identifying parents athletic dreams vs. the child’s vision of sport involvement.

Providing psychological assistance with injury rehabilitation – Injuries are never an expected occurrence. The initial shock and impending frustration for an athlete that finds themselves on the side-lines can result in strong emotional reactions. Developing skills such as goal setting, imagery, and communication with coaches provides a healthy solution for athletes to develop positive coping skills and self-management techniques during recovery from injury.

Sport psychology and performance consulting varies depending on the personalities of the consultant and the client, and the particular concerns they are experiencing. The first time I meet with you, we will each need to share some basic information with each other. For this reason, I usually schedule one hour for this first meeting. By the end of this session, I will summarize what we have discussed and tell you how I think we should proceed to help you meet your goals. At this time, you should evaluate your comfort with me and my services and raise any questions or concerns that may arise. We will then collaborate to work out a plan that feels right for you.
